What tests have everybody here have for ibs am going for a colonscopy and was wondering does anybody know what its like am terrified at the thought of it help please.
A colonscopy is the best test and nothing to be afraid of. I've had three in the past 6 years. IBS is very difficult to diagnose since there are so many different symptoms. There is a lot of information on the internet. I've had IBS for many years and have tried everything. One thing works for one and not the other. I've found that fiber has been the best overall for IBC-C and IBS-D. I have severe D.
I was terrified myself. If I only new how easy the colonoscopy was going to be I wouldnt have freaked out like I did. I have IBS and diverticulosis. Good luck
don't be afraid, it's one of the easiest tests i've had. The test was actually for other bowel conditions, like coeliac's, and they couldn't find that, so...IBS was the diagnosis! You will most likely be put to sleep, so enjoy a little rest! :) A camera is inserted up your behind, but as you will be asleep, you won't feel a thing. It doesn't take long. Probably the only thing that can be unpleasant is that you have to completely empty your bowel beforehand. I had to drink a lot of this solution, um..picoprep? It makes you empty your bowel very quickly. It's not painful though. Good luck, you will be fine! :) :)
I'm currently working on a Project and I would love it if you guys could help me out. It's based around my journey with IBS but I would also love it if I could include the stories of other people.
