Hey people...Well I am an engineering student...
I'm just another bloke whos enthusiastic but laid back, a perfectionist but procrastinator, very mature but clumsy.... and on goes the list...hehe... u know why?... its alll because of IBS!!! phaaaattt!!!

I always think that IBS has laid me back for ever... I owe all my laziness and inefficiency to it...
The thing that makes me worry too much is -when its making me so stupid that I make lame excuses on my works/studies/activities and wud just end up blaming IBS for all of it instead of not waking up from it and fight against it!!!!

Its been a hell thru all my school life and its getting much worse in college now- as I've got to know IBS better and wud just contemplate over this and in turn it increases my stress levels(which by the way is not gonna help my IBS get any better) PHEW!!!!

What do you do for fun?

internet, repairing stuffs,movies, driving...etc But i wish i could socialize more...

How long have you lived with IBS?

i think its gonna be 6-7 years or so.... or i don't know... i think it was much longer cos i can remember myself being very laid back at school days too... and i would never feel good to try anything new / active... i always would refrain and would just wanna go back home...!!!

When did you realize you had IBS?

just a monnth ago... Sept 2008!!! that is when I literally knew the term IBS!!! Had a LIMITED COLONOSCOPY test, Blood test, STOOL sample test and an INTESTINAL TISSUE BIOPSY test (phew!!!)..... Till then I never knew what was normal and was so embarrased to consult a doctor about the issue...

Most embarassing IBS moment:

getting back home too soon / frequently & not staying with people for a long time...

And the first time when I consulted a therapist, my condition was misconceived to be mild Haemorrhoids!!!- and I medicated for it for 6months!!!

How do you do treat your IBS?

medicine prescribed by the doctor for a month's course, diet changes and by trying to avert stress by doing something/ anything for that matter...

My doc asked me to stop those medications after a month and to get on with my life... He also said that he didn't want to treat me for IBS at just 18 and that it was a long term and incurable disease!!!
I was also asked to avoid milk during this period of treatment but then the doc asked me to gradually start taking milk after a period of time(which i don't think I'm gonna do>>>>)
