How long have you lived with IBS?

I have suffered symptoms since I was 13, however I was not diagnosed until I was 26 in 2007.

When did you realize you had IBS?

I have had my suspicions for about 11 years, but doctors did not confirm for many years

Most embarassing IBS moment:

During my whole time suffering from IBS, the worst moments still have to be when I have to use someone else's toilet or even worse, using the toilets at work. I find this embarrassing, distracting and it makes me self concious, I don't think that part of the condition ever goes away.

How do you do treat your IBS?

Medication to stop the diarrhoea, diet, lots of water and peppermint tablets. I am also considering acupuncture as I am so desperate to get some relief from the symptoms.
