Profile Information

Which of the following do you have:
IBS-D (Diarrhea), IBS-C (Constipation)
Date of Birth:
August 1, 1987
Sex:
Female
City/State:
Wantagh/NY
Country:
USA
Relationship Status:
In a Relationship
About Me:
I'm obsessed with Billy Joel.

I'm lactose intolerant, and I have freakish affinity for cows.
Occupation/Work:
Student/journalist
What do you do for fun?
What's that?
How long have you lived with IBS?
Since at least 2005, but I used to get sick at restaurants and stuff...eventually it progressed to everything I ate.
Most embarassing IBS moment:
Yikes.
How do you do treat your IBS?
I was on bentyl and others for a long time, but my new GI took me off everything and has me trying probiotics.

Imodium when D just won't let you leave the house, Pepto and Mylanta and such when you feel like dying.

I've been getting tests done to see if anything else is going on with me because I feel like IBS is too general of a term for what I have. If it's really still my diagnosis, it's a really dumb condition and I hate it. :)

cool Syracuse University, yeah i am not sure if its IBS, My GI basically told me to go home and enjoy, that bastard, he did some tests i dont know what and told me that everything seems fine and normal and that i should just watch my diet and avoid trigger foods, but the problem is that the gas is always there no matter what i eat.
i have experimentated with too many medications but now i am just focusing on diet change, it seems to have different effects on my GI track, fasting gave me an opportunity to control my diet and so far there isnt much progress but i can feel that my GI track is much more calm and almost no diarrhea for almost 2 weeks now,
Do probiotics work? i am eating yogurt to get the probiotics, but do u feel a difference? and is there a location where i can get a better IBS physicans? (sorry i dont know about the tests and eveything)
